About us

We exist to provide high quality day and residential placements to young people with additional learning needs and disabilities, as an independent specialist post-16 institution.

Bevan College was formed in 2023, as part of the Bridgend College Group (a wholly owned subsidiary). Prior to becoming Bevan College, specialist residential provision had been provided by Bridgend College for more than 45 years, via Weston House, founded in 1978. The identity of Weston House has been retained as the living spaces for students residing at Bevan College.

The College is regulated and inspected by Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW) and Estyn. We are also a member of the National Association for Specialist Colleges (Natspec). Oversight of the College and the monitoring of our strategic aims and quality is managed by our Board of Directors, who provide scrutiny, challenge and support.

  • Our Values

Our values are the guiding principles that shape our culture, behaviours, and decision-making. Our values provide shared understanding, expectation and accountability of how we operate as individuals and as a team. We seek to demonstrate these values through everyday interactions with students, staff and wider stakeholders.

  • Ambitious

We champion our students to be all that they can be. We are passionate about delivering holistic high quality person-centred care and education, which enables students to develop independence and achieve excellent outcomes.

  • Collaborative

We work together as a team to achieve excellence through integrated care, support, education and training. We utilise systems to ensure that information is shared in a timely way, supporting our commitment to excellence, accountability and high professional standards. We listen and actively seek the views of students, their families and our community to help shape and improve our work.

  • Safe

We create an environment which enables students to develop holistically, taking appropriate and measured steps towards their goals for learning and life. We uphold high professional standards and trust each other, working collaboratively to ensure that our environment is happy and caring for everyone.

  • Inclusive

We will create a place of belonging, where people show up for one another with care and respect. We will celebrate diversity and the rich value that this adds to our learning community. We will challenge limiting aspirations and assumptions; removing barriers and providing opportunities to grow and thrive.
